Kingdom Protista
Protist are unicellular and multicellular organisms, but they are not part of plant, monera, fungi ,or animal kingdom. A protist does have a true nucleus made by cells. Amebas and diatoms are protist. They can be either heterotrouphs or autotrophs. They mostley live in water or moist soil and even in a humans body. They reproduce A sexually.
Ameba
Ameba have a true nucleus and the are protist too. They are unicellular and multicellular organisms. They are very unique. They move by using thier pseudopodie which are known as false feet. Ameba eat there prey by surrouning it. Their contractile vacuole removes wastes from there body. They reproduce A sexually.
Paramecium
Paramecium move by using there cilia. They usually have two nucleus and food is gathered through the mouth pore. They reproduce A sexually. The anal pore is used to get rid of waste. The contractive vacuole removes excess water.
Euglenas
Euglenas are protist becuase thier specialized structure with each cell. They have green pigments to make thier own food through photosynthesis. They have a kind of ''eye''. They move by swimming. Euglenas appear to have a mouthlike structure. They live in water, and have 2 flagellas for swimming.
Algae
Algae is a large plantlike organism. They are classified as being a protist. The algae have chlorophyll and can make thier own food through photosynthesis. Most algae have been cassified in the kingdom Protista or in another major group called the eukarya. They live in the sea, in freshwater, and in moist sistuations on land. A intresting fact is algae that thrive in open polluted water, some of which are toxic, can overmultiply, cuasing an algal blom and seriously unbalancing thier ecosystem.
Trypanosomes
Trypanosomes are deseases that mostly occur in sub-saharan africa. It can cuase fever, head aches, joint pains and the parisite affects the central nerve system which cuases confusion, be uncordinated, and uncontrolled sleepness. With out treatment the host will die.
Diatoms
Diatoms are covered by two shells that fit together, which looks like a pill box. They float on the surface of fresh and salt water. Their food is stored within there cells as small drops of oil. Much of our petroleum today is mostlyfrom the food from old diatoms, that are millions of years old.
